Individual Coaching
Helping young people through the transition points in education and into work.
FF provides One to One coaching and mentoring during some of the residential and multi-day programmes we run. We also provide coaching outside of programmes to help young people through the various transition points they will face during education and post-education.
How does it work?
FF coaches work with their clients to help them achieve results they are committed to. It is important that there is commitment from both the client and the coach. We put in place a coaching agreement which clearly delineates responsibilities and mutual commitment to the process of coaching. With under 18s, this can be a 3-way agreement with the client, parent/guardian and the coach. Coaching sessions can take place over the phone or face-to-face depending on what is needed and preferred. Each coaching session will last approximately an hour; coaches, by prior agreement, can agree to have longer sessions, if this works better and they are happy that this fits with the results intended in the coaching agreement. We are committed to getting you your results, so we will put in place a coaching schedule which we believe will lead to this.

What issues do you work with?
Our coaches will work typically help young people with the following challenges – lack of motivation, feeling overwhelmed, stress, developing focus and study techniques, helping balance commitments and keeping you accountable to your goals. We explore underlining issues of motivation and help young people to realise their potential and aim high.
Who are FF coaches?
FF Coaches are recruited for their experience, way of working and fit with our values. They are a very diverse group of people. All are passionate about helping young people to achieve their potential. Typically our Coaches will be former teachers or qualified trainers with experience of counseling and/or NLP. Once you register an interest in coaching, we will conduct an assessment with you and on the basis of this will match you with the most suitable Coach.
What coaching approach do you take?
We do not follow a particular school since we work with coaches from a variety of backgrounds and trainings. The benefit of this is that we can find a coach with an approach and style which we think will work for you. All our coaches are experienced working with young people, subscribe to our code of ethics and are CRB checked. We are happy to send you the coach’s credentials and CV, if you would like.
How long does a coaching engagement last?
We ask you to commit to a minimum of three sessions as our coaching focuses on building competence, beliefs and other resources for long-term development and independence. Coaching can work very quickly but it isn’t a one-hit fix approach. A typical coaching engagement might last a term, 3-6 months or 8+ sessions; some are less, some are longer. Your consultant will discuss this with you on the initial call, and will select a coach who works with the weekly availability you have. Your coach will then schedule a block of sessions upfront, or agree a commitment (e.g. 5pm on Tuesdays fortnightly) or agree each session at the end of the previous one.
What do our clients say?
Talk about opening my mind, I've opened my eyes and it's the best thing I could ever have done. I keep saying it – how much of a difference these guys can actually make to someone, but it's true. To think about how I was before I was introduced to them, and to how far I've got now. So I guess it wasn't all down to them, but a large part of it has been. I can't even explain how fantastic it is. Courtney, former student, Costessey High School
His statement on Friday to us was that he will, 'never say no to anything and that he intends to say yes to any opportunity that comes his way' and that he felt that it was one of the best things he has ever done!!!
